The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College women's basketball team remains ranked third in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll. The Surge are 7-0 on the season. Kalamazoo Valley Community College moved up two spots to number six in this week rankings. The Cougars are 6-0 on the season. Owens Community College dropped two spots this week to number 12. The Express are 6-2 on the season. Muskegon Community College is in the other receiving votes category this week. The Jayhawks are 6-0 overall this season. Jackson Community College is also in the others receiving votes category again this week. The Jets are 4-1 on the campaign.

The Mott Community College men's basketball team are the number one team in the NJCAA Division II rankings for the third straight week. The Bears are 4-0 on the season. Lakeland Community College held on to the number three ranking for the second straight week. The Lakers are 7-0 on the seson. Columbus State Community College dropped one spot this week to number seven. The Cougars are 6-0 on the season. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College dropped out of the top 20 this week and into the others receiving votes category. The Surge are 5-1 on the season. Oakland Community College is also in the others receiving votes category again this week. The Raiders are 5-0 on the season.

Cincinnati State's McLemore named NJCAA Player of the Week
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College sophomore forward Kara McLemore has been named NJCAA Division II women's basketball player of the week. McLemore, a 5-11 forward, had three impressive performances last week to lead the number three Lady Surge to a 7-0 in record. She recorded 16 points, seven stea in a 89-51 Rio Grande University JV. She then combined for 52 points on 87 percent shooting from the field over Southeastern Illinois College and Rend Lake (IL) College. Congratulations to Kara on the award.

Lakeland's Cooper named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week
Lakeland Community College freshman forward Brendan Cooper has been named NJCAA Division II men's basketball player of the week. Cooper, 6-7, had 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the Lakers 106-73 blowout win over Notre Dame (OH) College JV. Cooper then recorded two double-doubles in the TJ Memorial Classic, he was named MVP after leading the number three Lakers to wins over Mercyhurst (PA) North East and Glen Oaks Community College. He shot 74 percent from the floor and 90 percent from the free throw line for the week.

The Mott Community College men's basketball team remained the number one team in the nation for the second straight week in the NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll. The Bears are 4-0 on the season and are off until December 2nd. Lakeland Community College moved up two spots this week to number three in this week's rankings. The Lakers are 7-0 on the season. Columbus State Community College moved up one spot to number six this week. The Cougars are 5-0 on the season. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College remained at number 18 for the second straight week. The Surge are 5-0 on the season. Owens Community College dropped out of the top 25 and into the others receiving votes catagory. The Express are 6-1 on the season, their only loss is to number one Mott Community College.

Oakland CC falls to Cowley in National Championship match
The Oakland Community College women's volleyball team has come far in the five years since Bryan Lindstrom took over the program. Prior to his arrival, Oakland had one .500 season in the record books. Since he has got there, they have two Eastern Conference Volleyball titles, a MCCAA runner up and a NJCAA District E title to their credit. Now they can add National Runners up to the list. The second ranked Raiders lost a hard fought match to top ranked Cowley (KS) County Community College in four sets at the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Nationals.
Oakland (41-4) won the first set 25-23 before losing the next three by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-21. Cowley County wins the National title with a final record of 37-2 overall. Setter Lauren Maxwell and middle hitter Ashley Fields were named to the All-Tournament Team for the Raiders. Hannah Geelhood of Grand Rapids Community College was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Grand Rapids defeats MCC-Longview to finish seventh
The eleventh ranked Grand Rapids Community College women's volleyball team defeated Metropolitan (MO) Community College-Longview to finish seventh at the NJCAA Division women's volleyball National Tournament. The Raiders defeated the Lakers by scores of 28-26, 25-16 and 25-21. Grand Rapids finishes the season with a 33-7 record.

Oakland CC advance to National title match
The number two ranked Oakland Community College women's volleyball team moved one step closer to a National Championship by beating seventh ranked Kishwaukee (IL) College 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 in the semi-final match tonight. The Raiders (41-3) will face top ranked Cowley (KS) County Community College (36-2) at 6:30 PM on Saturday at Owens Community College. With the win over Kishwaukee (35-10), the Raiders will seek the school's first women's volleyball National Championship. Oakland won the Division II Men's Basketball National Championship in 1987.

Grand Rapids falls to Iowa Lakes in consolation bracket
The Grand Rapids Community College women's volleyball team dropped their consolation bracket match to number three ranked Iowa Lake Community College, 25-20, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20 at the NJCAA Division II volleyball nationals at Owens Community College. The eleventh ranked Raiders (32-7) will play for seventh place on Saturday at 12:00 noon against Metropolitan (MO) Community College-Longview.

Oakland defeats Grand Rapids in four sets to advance
It appears the third time was the charm for the Oakland Community College women's volleyball team. The second ranked Raiders faced Grand Rapids Community College for the third time this season in the NJCAA Division II women's volleyball quarterfinals. Grand Rapids defeated Oakland in the first two matches this year but Oakland won the third and most important match 25-18, 25-22, 27-29, 26-24. The win put Oakland (40-3) in the semi-finals against number seven Kishwaukee (IL) College tomorrow at 6:30 PM.
The loss drops Grand Rapids into the consolation bracket and means the best they can finish is fifth. The Raiders (32-6) will face number three Iowa Lakes Community College tomorrow at 2:30 PM in the Student Health and Activities Center on the campus of Owens Community College.

Oakland, Grand Rapids advance at volleyball nationals
NJCAA Region XII is guaranteed a team in the top four at the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Nationals after both Oakland Community College and Grand Rapids Community College advanced in the first round of the tournament. Oakland Community College (39-3) advanced to the quarterfinals beating Prairie (IL) State College 25-16, 25-12, 25-19 on Thursday morning. The second ranked Raiders dominated the first two sets and pulled away in the third set to advance.
Grand Rapids Community College (32-5) advanced with a hard fought five set victory over eighth ranked Illinois Central College by the scores of 27-25, 22-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-12. The 11th ranked Raiders will play Oakland Community College today at 5:30 at the Student Health and Activities Center on the campus of Owens Community College. Grand Rapids and Oakland have faced each other twice this season with Grand Rapids coming out victorious in both matches.

Jackson Community College debuts are number 17 in this week's poll. The Jets are 2-1 on the season. Muskegon Community College (1-0) and Schoolcraft College (3-0) are in the others receiving votes category this week.

Lorain County defeats Niagara County to finish fourth
The Lorain County Community College women's volleyball team went 2-1 at the NJCAA Division III volleyball nationals to finish 4th in the nation. The Commodores defeated Niagara (NY) County Community College, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 15-12 in the 4th/6th place match this morning. This was Lorain County's first trip to nationals, they finish 28-13 on the season.

The Lorain County Community College defeated Fashion Institute of Technology (NY), 25-15, 25-21, 25-13 to advance to the fourth/sixth place game tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST at the NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament against the Niagara (NY) County Community College. The Commodores are 27-13 on the season.

The Lorain County Community College women's volleyball team lost their first match at the NJCAA Division III women's volleyball national to Brookhaven (TX) Community College, 25-16, 25-13, 25-15. The Commodores will play the loser of the Northland (MN) Community & Technical College and Fashion Institute of Technology match at 3:00 EST.

Lorain County opens Division III volleyball nationals tomorrow
The Lorain County Community College women's volleyball team will be seeded seventh when it opens the NJCAA Division III women's volleyball nationals tomorrow at 12:00 EST. The Commodores (26-12) have drawn number two seed Brookhaven (TX) College who are 19-18 on the season. This is the first time is school history that Lorain has advanced to the National Tournament. This year the tournament is being held in Rochester, MN.

Oakland and Grand Rapids seeds and opponents announced
The Oakland Community College women's volleyball team has been seeded second in the NJCAA Division II women's volleyball tournament. The Raiders (35-30, who were ranked second in the last poll will open the tournament at Owens Community College on Thursday, November 17 at 3:00 PM against Prairie (IL) State College (27-10). Grand Rapids Commnity College is seeded tenth in the tournament after being ranked 11th in the final volleyball poll. The Raiders (31-5) will open on November 17th at 3:00 PM against Illinois Central College (44-6). The Cougars were ranked eighth in the the final poll. If both teams win or lose they will face each other for the third time this season, Grand Rapids has beat Oakland in the first two meetings.

Schoolcraft College drops to number six in this week's poll
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team dropped five spots to number six in this week's NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll. The Ocelots played the College of Southern Maryland to a 0-0 draw after two overtimes on Saturday but were defeated 5-4 in penalty kicks in the North Central District Championship. Schoolcraft College finished the season with a 22-0-1 record for the year. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College dropped one spot this week to number 17. The Surge finished the season at 16-5-0.

Region XII announces fall All-Region awards
NJCAA Region XII is proud to announce the fall, 2011 All-Region teams for the five fall sports. Men's and Women's Soccer honored 11 first team and 11 second team players in each sport. The top 10 finishers at the Region XII cross country men's and women's meet earned All-Region honors in the Division I Meet and the top two runners in both men's and women's races at the Division III meet are All-Region. 20 volleyball players earned All-Region honors this fall as well. Oakland CC advances to Nationals for first time in school history
The Oakland Community College women's volleyball team need the if necessary game but they advanced to the NJCAA Division II National by defeating Owens Community College (44-5) 25-19, 26-24, 25-13 to win the NJCAA District E Volleyball Tournament. The Raiders (38-3) were led by tournament Most Valuable Player Lauren Maxwell. Kasey Clark and Molly Irvine of Oakland also made the All-Tournament Team. Oakland went 4-1 in the tournament defeating Henry Ford Community College, Columbus State Community College and Owens CC twice. They also lost to Owens in the first championship game.
Oakland advances to the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Nationals on November 17-19, 2011 at Owens (OH) Community College in Toledo, OH. It is the first time in school history the Raiders have advance to the National Tournament.
Owens placed Ellie Comes and Brittany Egbert on the All-Tournament Team. Lauren Macuga of Schoolcraft College and Antoinette Fa'atiga of Macomb Community College rounded out the team. Oakland's Bryan Lindstrom was named NJCAA District E Coach of the Year.

Grand Rapids wins District F advances to nationals
The Grand Rapids Community College women's volleyball team advance to the NJCAA Division II Nationals for the second straight year by defeating Muskegon Community College, 25-17, 26-24, 25-21 in the NJCAA District F Volleyball Tournament held at Ford Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids, MI. The Raiders (31-5) have gone to national tournament four of the last five season.
Grand Rapids went 3-0 in the tournament defeating Sinclair Community College in the winners bracket semi-finals and Muskegon Community College in the winners bracket finals on Saturday. Muskegon went 2-2 in the tournament to finish the season 32-12. Chip Will of Grand Rapids Community College was named District F Coach of the Year, while the Raiders Kaitlyn Wolters was named Tournament Most Valuable Player. Nicole Czehowksi and Hannah Geelhood of Grand Rapids were named to the All-Tournament team along with Audrey Skrabis and Ashley Hulbert of Muskegon Community College. Kayla Marcadlo of Vincennes University and Breanna Pelloni of Kellogg Community College rounded out the all-tournament team.
The Raiders advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on November 17-19, 2011 at Owens Community College in Toledo, OH.

Lorain County CC finishes 13th at Division III nationals
The Lorain County Community College men's cross country team finished 13th at the NJCAA Division III Nationals on Saturday in Westfield, MA. The Commodores finished with 320 points, 30 behind the Community College of Rhode Island. Martin Russ was the top finisher for Lorain County coming in 40th in a tiem 28:36.93 for the eight kilometers. Patrick Foreman finished 44th (28:42.58), while Gabriel Cruz finished 70th in a time of 29:51.62. Ayoub Kirresh (84th), Sam Bickley (113th) and Zachary Enorai (154th) were the other runners for Lorain County.

Region XII places two runner in top 20 at Nationals
Two Region XII runner placed in the top 20 at the NJCAA Division II Nationals held in Westfield, MA on Saturday. Schoolcraft College's Erica Mozdy finished 17th in a time of 20:35.87 for the 5 kilometers, while Hannah Cook of Lorain County Community College finished 18th in a time of 20:39.61. Madeline LaFave of Schoolcraft College finished 36th in a time of 21:25.22 to round out the Region XII runners.

Macomb CC drops to spots to number three this week
The Macomb Community College women's cross country team dropped two spots to number three in this week's NJCAA Division I women's cross country poll. The Monarchs won the Region XII cross country championship meet last week.
Lansing Community College dropped two spots to number seven this week. The Stars finished second in the Region XII meet last week. Jackson Community College moved up two spots to number ten in this week's rankings. The Jets finished third in the Region XII meet last Saturday. Mott Community College dropped two spots to number 19 this week. The Bears finished fourth in the Region XII meet last weekend. Lansing CC ranked sixth again this week in cross country poll
The Lansing Community College men's cross country team held on to the number six ranking again in this week's NJCAA Division I men's cross country poll. The Stars won the MCCAA and Region XII meets last Saturday.
Vincennes University jumped five spots to number 13 in this week's rankings after finishing second at the Region XII championship last weekedn. Oakland Community College dropped one spot to number 15 this week after finishing fourth in the Region XII meet last Saturday. Muskegon Community College debuts in the top 25 at number 19 this week. The Jayhawks finished fifth in the Region XII meet last weekend. Macomb Community College also makes their debut this week at number 23. The Monarchs finished sixth in the Region XII meet.

Muskegon ranked number three in first wrestling rankings
The Muskegon Community College wrestling team is ranked third in the NJCAA Wrestling rankings that were released today. The Jayhawks open their season this weekend at the Eastern Michigan University this Saturday.

Delta College debuts at number 14 in this week's poll
In their first season, Delta College has won the NJCAA Region XII women's soccer tournament and now they have broke into the top 15 for the first time as well. The Pioneers are ranked number 14 in this week's NJCAA Division I women's soccer poll this week after defeating Schoolcraft College 1-0 in a shootout on Sunday. Delta will host Waubonsee (IL) Community College on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00 PM in the NJCAA District D Women's Soccer Championship.

Schoolcraft College remains number one for fourth straight week
Fresh off their 2-1 double overtime win in the NJCAA Region XII championship game, the Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is ranked number one in the NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll for the fourth straight week. The Ocelots are 22-0 overall and won the MCCAA and NJCAA Region XII regular season titles.
They advanced to the NJCAA North Central District by defeating Muskegon Community College 4-0 and Cincinnati State Technical & Community College 2-1 in a double overtime thriller in the Region XII Tournament. Schoolcraft will face number 19 College of Southern Maryland on Saturday, November 5th at 1 PM in La Plata, MD. The Hawks are 12-3-2 and won the Region XX Tournament over the weekend.
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College dropped four spots to number 16 this week. The Surge won the OCCAC regular season title and finished the season with a 16-6-1 record.
