Serving 11 years as head coach of the Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) volleyball program, Gary Gray’s hard work and dedication molded exceptional student-athletes from 1989 to 1999. His student-athletes have gone on to begin successful careers, families, and have become outstanding citizens.

Upon retirement in 2000, Gray relocated to Higgins Lake, Mich. where he quickly became active with the Roscommon High School program for six seasons. His guidance led them to league and district championships as well as a regional tournament appearance, earning league honors all six season.

Gray returned to HFCC three years ago as an assistant to his son Scott, improving the Hawks from 0-26 to 17-18 the very next year, including All-Conference honorees.

“We are getting our program back to the prominence that he once instilled,” remarked Scott Gray, current Henry Ford Community College head coach. “I believe that I couldn’t have done these amazing things without my mentor, assistant, friend and my dad.”
