Men's Soccer
Schoolcraft's Lobo named First Team All-American
Schoolcraft College sophomore midfielder Marco Lobo was named a NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-American on Friday. Lobo, who earned Second Team All-American Honors last season, scored 13 goals and added nine assist this season for 35 points. Lobo is the only Region XII soccer player, either men's or women's, to earn All-American honors this season.

Schoolcraft College drops to number six in this week's poll
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team dropped five spots to number six in this week's NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll. The Ocelots played the College of Southern Maryland to a 0-0 draw after two overtimes on Saturday but were defeated 5-4 in penalty kicks in the North Central District Championship. Schoolcraft College finished the season with a 22-0-1 record for the year. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College dropped one spot this week to number 17. The Surge finished the season at 16-5-0.

Region XII announces fall All-Region awards
NJCAA Region XII is proud to announce the fall, 2011 All-Region teams for the five fall sports. Men's and Women's Soccer honored 11 first team and 11 second team players in each sport. The top 10 finishers at the Region XII cross country men's and women's meet earned All-Region honors in the Division I Meet and the top two runners in both men's and women's races at the Division III meet are All-Region. 20 volleyball players earned All-Region honors this fall as well. Below are the links to the NJCAA All-Region Teams in all five sports.

Schoolcraft College remains number one for fourth straight week
Fresh off their 2-1 double overtime win in the NJCAA Region XII championship game, the Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is ranked number one in the NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll for the fourth straight week. The Ocelots are 22-0 overall and won the MCCAA and NJCAA Region XII regular season titles.
They advanced to the NJCAA North Central District by defeating Muskegon Community College 4-0 and Cincinnati State Technical & Community College 2-1 in a double overtime thriller in the Region XII Tournament. Schoolcraft will face number 19 College of Southern Maryland on Saturday, November 5th at 1 PM in La Plata, MD. The Hawks are 12-3-2 and won the Region XX Tournament over the weekend.
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College dropped four spots to number 16 this week. The Surge won the OCCAC regular season title and finished the season with a 16-6-1 record.

Schoolcraft College claims Region XII title in double overtime
Marco Lobo scored three minutes and two second into the second overtime to give Schoolcraft College a 2-1 win and the 2011 NJCAA Region XII men's soccer championship. Lobo took a pass from Brent McIntosh and dribble down the left side before putting past Cincinnati State Technical & Community College goaltender Ben Steinnecker. Cincinnati State took a 1-0 lead in 36 minutes into the game when Schoolcraft College goaltender misplayed a ball in the penalty box and Justin Mitchell put it in the empty net. Cincinnati held the play for the the rest of the first half and early in the second half but the tide started to turn the Ocelots way when Christian Johnson received a red card. Playing with a man advantage, Lobo took a pass from Jonathon Heslop and put it up and over the Surge goalie to tie the game in the 80th minute.
Cincinnati State picked up two more red cards one in the 85th minute and one in the 99th minute. Playing three men down was just to much for the Surge, who gave a great effort to hold Schoolcraft College off the board for so long.
Schoolcraft College now advances to the NJCAA North Central District will hosted by either by Harford (MD) College or College of Southern Maryland on Saturday, November 5th.

Schoolcraft College ranked number one again this week
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is ranked number one again in this week's NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll. The Ocelots finished the regular season with a 20-0 overall record and a 16-0 record in NJCAA Region 12. They also won the MCCAA Conference title with an 8-0 record. They will play the winner of Ancilla College and Muskegon Community College on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College is ranked 12th again this week. The Surge finished the regular season at 15-4 overall and 12-4 in Region 12. They also won the OCCAC regular season title and are the number two seed for the NJCAA Region 12 tournament and will play either Owens Community College or Jackson Community College on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Owens Community College.

The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is ranked number one for the second staright week in the NJCAA Division II men's soccer poll. The Ocelots are 18-0 overall and 14-0 in Region XII play. They have won the Region XII regular season title and will be the number one seed in the NJCAA Region XII tournament. They are also the MCCAA Champions with an 8-0 record. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College moved up one spot to number 13 this week. The Surge are 14-3-0 overall and 11-3-0 in Region XII play. They are the number two seed in the NJCAA Region XII tournament and will have a bye in the first round. They have also claimed the OCCAC title this season.

Cincinnati State's Jake Brooks named NJCAA Player of the Week
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, 6-2, freshman forward Jake Brooks has been named NJCAA Division I Player of the Week. Brooks scored four goals and one assist in a 7-2 win over Wilmington (OH) College and added a goal in a 3-0 win over Owens Community College. He also added two goals in an 8-0 win Tiffin (OH) University. Region XII congratulates Jake on the honor.

Ancilla's Smith earns NJCAA player of the week honors
Freshman stiker JaCoby Smith of Ancilla College has been named the NJCAA Divisiion I men's soccer player of the week for the week ending on September 11th. Smith scored hat tricks in consecutive games over the weekend. On Saturday, he scored three goals and had one assist as Ancilla defeat host Lakeland Community College 6-0. On Sunday, Smith repeated the three goal, one assist feat against Cuyahoga Community College, as the Chargers won 8-0. We congratulate JaCoby on the honor.

Cincinnati State ranked second in pre-season soccer poll
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College Men's Soccer team is ranked second in this year's NJCAA Division I Men's Pre-Season Soccer poll. The Surge finished second in the nation last season with a 22-3-0 record. Schoolcraft College is ranked 10th in the pre-season poll. The Ocelots finished runner up in the NJCAA Region XII soccer tournament and finished with a 17-4-1 record. The Region XII soccer champion will be crowned on October 30th at Owens Community College.

Former Cincinnati State soccer player loaned to EPL
Former Cincinnati State Technical & Community College soccer player Omar Cummings has been loaned from the Colorado Rapids to Aston Villa of the English Premier League. He will be on loan to the British team until March. Omar will return in Mid-March to help the Colorado Rapids defend their 2010 MLS Championship. Cummings received the "Golden Boot" award by leading the Rapids in scoring the most goals during the 2010 season. You can follow Omar at the following websites.

Three Region XII soccer players have earned All-American honors
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College forward Ashton Bennett has been named a First Team NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-American. Bennett scored 24 goals and 19 assists for 67 points in 19 games this season. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College midfielder Cody Clark has earned Second Team All-American Honors. Clark scored five goals and three assists for 13 points in nine games. Schoolcraft College midfielder Marco Lobo also has earned Second Team All-American honors. Lobo scored 20 goals and eight assists for 48 points in 20 games.

Cincinnati State finishes second in final soccer poll
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College finished second in the final NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer poll. The Surge, who finished runners up at the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Nationals, finished with a record of 22-3-0. Schoolcraft College finished tenth in the poll. The Ocelots, Region XII runners-up, finished with a 17-4-1 record.

The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team placed three players on the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team at the National Tournament. Cody Clark, Grant Kercher and Zak Moss were all named to the team. The Surge finished second in the National Tournament over the weekend.

Tyler defeats Cincinnati State for National Soccer Championship
Tyler (TX) Junior College was just too much for the Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team in today NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer National Championship Match. The Apaches jumped out to a 3-0 first half lead and never looked back as the beat the Surge 5-1 for the title. Cincinnati's lone goal was an unassisted marker by Nathan Hudson with 7:57 left to go in the game. The Surge finish second in the Nation and with a final record of 22-3 on the season. Congratulations to Head Coach Mike Combs and the Surge on a great season.

Cincinnati advance to the final in two overtimes
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College soccer team advanced to the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship Game by defeating Monroe (NY) College 2-1 in double overtime. The Surge (22-2-0) got a goal with 4:15 left in the second overtime by Carl Peers. Monroe opened the scoring with 19:57 left in the second half on a goal by Anthony Asante with an assist going to William Koki. Cincinnati tied the game with 7:10 left in regulation on a goal by Ashton Bennett on a pass from Ben Rascona. The Surge will playTyler (TX) Junior College on Sunday in Tyler, TX for a shot at the NJCAA Division I Men's Championship. Game time is 2:00 PM EST.

Cincinnati wins open match at Nationals
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team defeated Lincoln (IL) College 2-0 in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer National Tournament. The Surge (21-2-0) got goals from Ben Rascona with an assist from Carl Peers with 16:09 left of the second half. Peers added an unassisted goal with 2:03 left in the game. Cincinnati will face Monroe (NY) College at 4:00 PM EST in Tyler, TX.

Former Cincinnati star playing for MLS title next Sunday
Omar Cummings, former Cincinnati State Technical & Community College All-American, will play for the Major League Soccer (MLS) Championship after his Colorado Rapids beat San Jose 1-0 on Saturday night. The Rapids will play the winner of today's match between FC Dallas and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Cummings, played two years for the Surge before playing for the University of Cincinnati. Omar was a unianimous First Team All-American while at Cincinnati State. He was drafted in the MLS SuperDraft. Cummings leads the Rapids with 14 goals and also has 3 assists in 29 games. He has 76 shots and 37 shots on goal. He also has three game winning goals for the Rapids.

Cincinnati to play Lincoln College in first round of Nationals
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College soccer team will face Lincoln (IL) College in the first round of the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament in Tyler, TX on November 18th. The Surge (20-2-0) are the number three seed in the tournament and will face the Lynx (16-1-4) in the second match of the tournament. Cincinnati is lead by Ashton Bennett with 24 goals and 19 assists for 67 points. Dylan Hoop is second on the team in scoring with 23 goals and 12 assists for 58 points. Lincoln is lead by Stiven Salinas with 21 goals and 20 points for 62 points. Edwin Moalosi has 20 goals and 11 assists for 51 points. The winner will meet the winner of the Monroe (NY) Community College and Otero (CO) Junior College match on Friday, November 19th.

Cincinnati State advances to Nationals with a 3-1 win
The Cincinnati State Technical & Communty College men's soccer team advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament with a 3-1 over visiting CCBC (MD)-Essex. Cincinnati opened the scoring with goal by Jake Jones at the 5:10 mark of the first half with the assist going to Garret Listo. 22 minutes into the second half Ashton Bennett scored the game winner on a pass from mid-field by Carl Peers. Bennett ran the ball in from mid field and slotted the ball past the keeper. 38 minutes into the second half Dylan Hoop added an insurance goal when Hoop ran the ball in from 40 yards out. Zak Moss got the assist on the goal. Austin Morgan only made two saves as the Surge dominated the game by outshooting CCBC-Essex 19-5. Cincinnati (20-2-0) advances to the NJCAA Division I Nationals in Tyler, TX on November 18-20, 2011. There opponent has not been set yet.

Cincinnati State hold on to number three again this week
The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team held on the number three ranking in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer poll. The Surge are 19-2-0 overall and won the Region XII Men's Soccer Title. Schoolcraft College dropped eight points to number 12 after losing the Region XII soccer title 2-1 on Sunday. The Ocelots finished the season at 17-4-1 overall. Cincinnati State will host CCBC-Essex from Maryland on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Cincinnati State win Region XII Soccer title
Powered by two second half goals the Cincinnati State Technical & Community College defeated Schoolcraft College 2-1 for their first ever Region XII Soccer title. Schoolcraft College opened the scoring 18 minutes into the game on a goal by Marco Lobo. The Surge tied the game ten minutes into the second half on a goal by Carl Peers that was assisted by Jake Jones. Cincinnati got the game winner with nine minutes left in the game on a goal by Ashton Bennett with a assist to Peers. Austin Morgan made five saves for the Surge. Cincinnati will host the Region XX winner on Saturday, November 5 at 12:00 PM. Surge coach Mike Combs was named Region XII Coach of the Year.

The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team held on to the number five spot in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll for the second straight week. Former Cincinnati player Cummings, MLS Player of the Month
Former Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer player Omar Cummings has been named the Major League Soccer Player of the Month for September, as voted by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).
The Colorado Rapids forward scored six goals in four September games he played in, as the Rapids posted a 3-1-1 record during the month. This is his third MLS award in a month, as he received player of the week and goal of the week.
"To receive this honor is great," said Cummings, who earns this first ever Player of the Month award. "This is something I have never done in my career before and it always feels good to be recongnized; but this is also a reflection on how well the team is playing as we make our push for the playoffs. It feels good."

The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team on the heels of a 3-0 win over #5 ranked Cincinnati State Technical & Community College moved up three spots to number two in this week's NJCAA Division I Soccer Poll. The Ocelots are 8-1-1 overall, 6-0-1 in Region XII play and 4-0-1 in the MCCAA play. The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team dropped two spots to number five after the loss. The Surge are 9-2-0 overall and 7-1-0 in Region XII play. The two teams will meet again on October 10 in Cincinnati, OH.

Schoolcraft's Motta named NJCAA Goalkeeper of the week
Schoolcraft College men's soccer Adrian Motta has been named the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer goalkeeper of the week. Motta recorded two shutouts this week over Delta College and Ancilla College. He faced nine shots stopping all of them for a 100 percent save percentage. Motta also stopped a penalty kick in the victory over Delta College. Congratulation to Adrian on the award.

The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer team jumped up seven spots in this week's NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll to number three. The Surge are 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the Region XII standings. Schoolcraft College held steady this week at number five. The Ocelots are 5-1-1 overall, 3-0-1 in Region XII and 2-0-1 in the MCCAA.

Former Cincinnati State player honored with Goal of the Week
Former Cincinnati State Technical & Community College soccer player Omar Cummings goal was named AT&T Goal of the Week. His 35 yard left footed strike against the New York Red Bulls last Saturday won the award. It was Cummings' ninth goal of the season for the Colorado Rapids and his fourth in the last three matches.

Former Cincinnati State player named MLS Player of the week
Former Cincinnati State Technical & Community College player Omar Cummings of the Colorado Rapids was named Major League Soccer Player of the Week as voted by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 23 of the 2010 season.
Cummings played at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College for two years before transfering to the University of Cincinnati. He was drafted in the MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids.
This is the second time Cummings' has won the second player of the week, having won it for Week 14 in 2009.
The Jamaican forward had a hand in all three of the Rapids second half goals in the 3-0 win over Chivas USA last Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
In the 52nd minute, Cummings beat his man and ripped a hard shot at goalkeeper Zach Thornton from the right side. The Chivas keeper mishandeled the shot and the ball fell to the feet of Conor Casey who quickly tapped it in for the first goal of the game.
Cummings then scored the final two goals of the game on his own. In the 68th minute, Cummings turned his mark inside out before shooting low to the far left post in a beautiful solo effort. He put the game away with second goal in the 81st minute, pushing a shot past Thornton from the left side.
The 28-year old has scored eight goals this season, matching his single-season careet high, which he set in 2009.

Kellogg CC Men's Soccer team "Walked a Mile in Her Shoes"
The Kellogg Commmunity College Soccer team participated in the "Walked a Mile in Her Shoes" event over the weekend. The players donned high heels in community awareness/fundraiser for the SAFE Place, a Battle Creek shelter for victims of domestic violence. Former Ancilla Soccer player Travis Major playing professionally
Former Ancilla College Soccer player Travis Major is now playing professionally for the Blacktown City FC in Australia. The 20-year old midfielder was on of the standout players as Blacktown took the 2010 New South Wales Premier League Grand Final 1-0 over the Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
The NSW Premier League is considered the second division of Australian soccer, under the A-League (their equivalent to our MLS). Travis's succes in his first full season as a pro has attracted interest from A-League clubs.

Schoolcraft College ranked third in pre-season poll
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is ranked third in the NJCAA Division I Men's Pre-season soccer poll. The Ocelots who finished third in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship last year. The Oceltos finished last season with an 18-2-2 overall record and they were 8-0-0 in the MCCAA. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College was listed in the other team's receiving votes in the poll. The Surge were the Region XII runner's up and finished with a 16-3-1 overall record and won the OCCAC with a 6-0-0 record.
This season the nine Region XII team will compete in one Regional league. Each team will play the other eight team in a home and home series with the top six teams advancing to the NJCAA Regon XII Soccer Tournament. The Final Four will be held at Delta College on October 31 and November 1st.

Region XII has two NJCAA Soccer All-Americans
Schoolcraft College goalkeeper Ian McDonald-Wilkins was named a NJCAA Division I First Team All-American today. McDonald Wilkins played in 21 games for the Ocelots racking up 1,690 minutes and a goals against average of 0.43. That led the Nation for goals against average. Hugo Cumina of Delta College was named a NJCAA Division I Third Team All-American. Cumina played in 15 games scoring two goals and three assists on the season.

Schoolcraft defeats Louisburg for third place at Nationals
The Schoolcraft College defeated Louisburg (NC) College 3-0 today to capture third place at the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Nationals today in West Windsor, NJ. The Ocelots (18-2-2) where led by Ian McDonald-Wilkins, who had his second shutout of the tournament, making five saves on the day. Schoolcraft took the lead 1-0 on a goal by Chris Long with 19:53 left to go in the first half. In the second half, Gavin Kelly blasted the ball from in front of the net to give the Ocelots a 2-0 lead just after the 70 minute mark. Ognen Stemenkovic scored the final goal on a penalty kick with 84:19 gone in the match. Louisberg out shot Schoolcraft 16-8 on the day.

Schoolcraft loses semi-final on penalty kicks
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team lost the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer semi-final to Georgia Perimeter College on penalty kicks today. The score was tied 1-1 after 110 minutes of action with the Ocelots only goal being scored by Dane Laird with 1:20 gone in the second half. Georgia Perimeter tied the game with a goal by Rury Alverez with 28:14 gone in the second half. Georgia Perimeter College won 3-2 in penalty kicks.

Schoolcraft College men advance behind McDonald-Wilkins shutout
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the NJCAA Division I men's soccer Championship today with a 2-0 win over Barton (KS) County Community College. Wilkins named nine saves as he lowered his nation leading goals against average to 0.45. In a constant rain, the Ocelots took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Ryan LeMaster of a Gavin Kelly touch of a throw in with 1:58 left in the first half. Bim Ogunyemi added an insurance goal with 15 minutes left in the contest to secure the victory. Schoolcraft College will face Georgia Perimeter College tomorrow at 5:00 PM in the semi-finals of the tournament, which is being held in West Windsor, NJ.

Division I Region XII Divison I soccer team announced
Schoolcraft College and Cincinnati State Technical & Community College each placed three members on the First Team Region XII Division I Men's Soccer All-Region Team. Goalkeeper Ian McDonald-Wilkins, Bim Onunyemi and Yaya Toure of Schoolcraft where named to the eleven player team. Dylan Hoop, Grant Kercher and Cody Clark of Cincinnati State Technical & Community College were also named to the squad. Rounding out the squad were Lorenzo Carrion-Bistolfi and Rodcliff Hall of Owens Community College, Hugo Curmina of Delta College, Dan Miller of Lakeland Community College and Rudy Baldetti of Ancilla College. Schoolcraft College men's soccer in national tournament
Schoolcraft College men's soccer team will play on Thursday in the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Soccer Tournament. The Ocelots (16-1-2) are seeded number three in the tournament. They will face the sixth seeded Barton (KS) County CC (20-3-0) at 5:00 PM in West Windsor, NJ. Schoolcraft advanced to the tournament by defeating Illinois Central College 2-1 in penalty kicks. Yaya Toure scored the only goal in regulation on an assist from Bim Ogunyemi. Ian McDonald-Wilkins played all 110 minutes and mad 10 saves, he also made two saves in the shootout. The Ocelots won the shootout 4-2 with goals by Kenny Vasquez, George Chomakov, Bim Ogunyemi and the district clincher by James Cho.

Schoolcraft claims Region XII soccer title
The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team won their second straight Region XII men's soccer title on Sunday in Medina, OH, defeating Cincinnati State Technical & Community College 2-0. The Ocelots scored both goals in the first half and then used solid defense to win the game. It looked as if Cincinnati State Technical & CC got on the board first but the play was called offsides. Just a few minutes later midfielder Nate Sergison scored on a pass from Bim Ogunyemi to put the Ocelots up 1-0. About 15 minutes later Ogunyemi set up Ryan LeMasters for the second and final goal of the game. Ian McDonald-Wilkins turned away four shots to earn the victory in the net. Schoolcraft College will host the Region XXIV champion on Saturday in Livonia, MI.

URGENT: Region XII soccer tournament playing at new locations
Due to poor weather conditions the past week and expected rain on Friday and Saturday in Northeast Ohio all games schedule at Cuyahoga Community College West Campus for the men's NJCAA Region XII soccer tournament have been moved to field turf facilities. Cuyahoga tried to use their college fields as well as other grass field in the area but they are in poor condition and due to the rain expected this weekend, the fields will only get worse. The original schedule still will remain the same but the matches will be played at different locations.
On Saturday, the matchs will be played at the Rival Sports Facilty (formerly Brad Friedel PSA Academy) in Lorain, OH. The address is 2101 Brad Fridel's Future Stars, Lorain, OH 44053. (Note: because the street is new most GPS might not recognize it, in that case you the neighboring address which is 4397 Leavit Road, Lorain, OH 44053. The web site is: www.rival-sports.com.

The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team moved up one spot to number five in this week's NJCAA Division I soccer poll. The Oceltos are 13-1-1 overall and 7-0 in MCCAA confernce play. They will play Owens Community College on Saturday in the semi-finals of the NJCAA Region XII soccer tournament. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College soccer team held on to the number 13 spot this week. The Surge are 15-2-1 overall and won the OCCAC with a 6-0-0 mark. They will play Ancilla College in the other semi-final of the Region XII Division I soccer tournament on Saturday at Cuyahoga Community College in Parma, OH.

The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team moved up two spots this week to number six the NJCAA Division I men's soccer poll. The Ocelots are 13-1-1 overall and 7-0-0 in the MCCAA. They have locked up the MCCAA conference championship and will be the number one seed from the MCCAA in the Region XII Division I men's soccer championship at Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus on October 31st and November 1st. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College broke into the top 15 this week at number 14. The Surge are 13-2-1 overall and finished the OCCAC schedule a perfect 6-0-0. They will be the number one seed out of the OCCAC and will play the MCCAA number two seed Ancilla College at the NJCAA Region XII Tournament.

The Ocelots are 10-1-1 overall and 5-0 in MCCAA conference play. They can clinch are Region XII tournament spot with a win or a tie, or a Jackson Community College loss or tie. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College is in the others receiving votes catagory again this week. The Surge, who have already locked up a Region XII Tournament berth, are 10-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the OCCAC. They can clinch the OCCAC title with a win or a tie or a Lakeland Community College loss or tie. Ancilla College (8-4 overall, 6-1 MCCAA), who is not ranked, have locked up a Region XII Tournament berth already.

Combs wins 100th game at Cincinnati State
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College men's soccer coach Mike Combs won his 100th game as Surge coach with a 1-0 win over Schoolcraft College on Saturday. The win was the first ever over Schoolcraft College in the regular season. Combs, in his seventh season, has current record at Cincinnati is 100-21-5 and is seeking their fifth Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) title in seven seasons. The Surge squad is make up of 21 true freshman and only three sophomores. Cincinnati State is ranked 13th in the nation and is 8-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the OCCAC.

Lakeland CC's Peterson earns All-American status
Lakeland Community College sophomore defender Kwesi Peterson earned Second Team All-American status. Peterson had 14 goals and five assists in 17 games for the Lakers who finished the season at 12-5-5.

The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team lost to the number one team in the nation Yavapai (AZ) College 3-1, Thursday night in the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Phoenix, AZ. Sophomore Younan Samra scored Schoolcraft's only goal in the ninth minute of the game. The Ocelots (18-2-4) will play Georgia Perminter College (16-4-1) today at 3:30 PM EST in the consolation bracket.

Schoolcraft College Men's Soccer team draws defending champion
The eleventh ranked Schoolcraft College men's soccer team drew defending National Champion and top ranked Yavapai (AZ) College in the first round of the NJCAA Division I Soccer Tournament. The Ocelots (18-1-4) will play the Roughriders (23-0) at 8:30 PM EST on Thursday at Paradise Valley (AZ) CC in Phoenix. Schoolcraft is led by Michael Iyoha who has 13 goals and four assists and Younan Samra who has 13 goals and 3 assists. Andy Adlington has five goals and 19 assists. Schoolcraft's leading goalkeeper is Chris Riley who has a 0.244 goals against average with 39 saves in 1,105 minutes. He has only allowed three goals on 42 shots. Schoolcraft College will play either fifth ranked Georgia Perimerter College or fourth ranked Garden City (KS) CC on Friday. If the Ocelots win they will play at 8:30 PM EST, if they lose they will play at 3:30 PM EST.

Schoolcraft College men's soccer team defeated host Lincoln Land Community College on Saturday 1-0 to advance to the NJCAA Divsion I National Soccer Tournament. Freshman Younan Samra scored Schoolcraft College only goal in the 78th minute. Andy Adlington added his 19th assist of the year on the goal. Adlington ranks third in the nation in assists. Sophomore Chris Riley had four saves for the Ocelots who are now 17-1-4 on the season and ranked 14th in the nation.

Lakeland's Kwesi Peterson named Men's Soccer Player of the week
Kwesi Peterson (Belmont Boys; Maloney, Trinidad) scored the winning goal against Cincinnati State Technical & CC over the weekend to clinch the OCCAC title for Lakeland CC. With two minutes left in the game, the central defender scored the go ahead goal in the 2-1 victory. Peterson currently leads his team with 28 points (12 goals, four assists). "Kwesi is frequently playing hurt," says coach Djuro Peric, "but when he is out here, everyone plays better. As long as Kwesi is on the field, we have a chance to win." The strong team leader tallied a goal an assist earlier in the week in a 6-1 victory over Mercyhust NE.

The Cincinnati State Techinical & CC men's soccer team is ranked 15th inthe NJCAA pre-season Men's Division I soccer poll. The Surge posted a 15-2-1 record last year. Schoolcraft College men's soccer team is the only other Region XII school in the poll, listed at others receiving votes. The Ocelots posted a 14-4-2 record last season.
