| Vincennes Captures Region D3 Golf Title |
On Saturday May 10th and Sunday May 11th, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College hosted the Region XII, Division III Regional Golf Championships at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown, Ohio. The 54 hole event was shortened to 45 holes due to unplayable conditions on Sunday afternoon. Vincennes University won event for their first time in school history shooting an impressive total of 788. Cincinnati State TCC finished second shooting an 812 and Lorain CC finished third with a score of 846.
The win for Vincennes University qualifies them for the NJCAA Division III National Championships to be held on June 2 through 6 in Chautauqua, New York. Also qualifying for the National Championships are Mike Ostholthoff of Cincinnati State and returning All-American Eric Polansky of Lorain. Ostholthoff was the regional tournament medalist and Polansky was regional runner-up.
The Region XII, All-Region team consisted of the following: Mike Ostholthoff (Cincinnati State), Eric Polansky (Lorain CC), Logan Lamb, Andrew Grantz, and Jason Walters (all from Vincennes University)
Dennis Chattin of Vincennes University was named Coach of the Year.
