| NJCAA Honors Region XII Athletes |
|
Seven Region XII basketball players have been named to National Junior College Athletic Conference All-America Teams.
Jeremie Simmons a 6'1" Sophmore guard from Mott Community College made the NJCAA Division II All-America 1st Team. Simmons lead his team to the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship title for the 2nd consecutive year. He was 11th in the nation in scoring with 21.2 points per game. Mott Stats
Mark Anderson a 6'8" Freshman forward from Sinclair Community College made the NJCAA Division II All-America 2nd Team. Anderson lead the nation in scoring with 25.8 points a game. He also pulled down 9.3 rebounds a game for Sinclair. Sinclair Stats
Thomas Kennedy a 6'7" Sophmore Forward from Mott Community College NJCAA Division II All-America 2nd Team. Kennedy averaged 14.4 points per game for Mott while pulling dow 7.7 rebounds per game. Mott Stats
Trevor Wenzell 6'2" Freshman Guard from Lorain County Community College NJCAA Division III All-America 3rd Team. 3rd Team. Wenzell was the 7th leading scorer in the nation in NJCAA D3 Basketball averaging 22.9 points per game. Lorain Stats
Darcell Williams a 5'5" Sophmore Guard from Muskegon Community College made the NJCAA Division II Women's All-America 1st Team. Williams lead Muskegon to the District G Championship. She dished out 6.7 assists per game placing her at 4th in the nation in NJCAA D2 Stats. Muskegon Stats
Antoinette Brown a 5'11" Sophmore Forward Schoolcraft College made the NJCAA Division II Women's All-America 2nd Team. Brown kept her team at the top of the NJCAA National poll all season. She averaged 14.4 points a game for Schoolcaft and pulled down 5.6 boards a game. Schoolcraft Stats
Lenisha Williams a 5'10" Sophmore Forward from Muskegon Community College NJCAA Division II Women's All-America 3rd Team. Williams was 15th in the nation in scoring, averaging 18 points per game and 3rd in rebounding with 13 rebounds per game. Muskegon Stats

| Region XII Athletes Get National Honors |
Three Region XII athletes receive honors at the NJCAA Women's Basketball Division II National Championships.
Mott Community College's Nicole Holmes earned the tournament's Power Cat Award, sponsored by Caterpiller, Inc. The award is give to the player that has the highest tournament average in points, rebounds, assists, and steals with points subtracted for turnovers.
Holmes teammate, Trinka Boatwright, made the All-Tournament Team. Boatwright averaged a double-double for the tournament with 20 points per game and 13.7 rebounds a game.
Muskegon Community College center Lauren Mouthaan also made the All-Tournament Team. Mouthaan scored 16.5 points per game and pulled down 10 rebounds per game.

| Mott CC Lady Bears take 4th Place at National Championships |
Mott Community College Women's Basketball lost their final game of the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship 95-61 to the tournament's 5th seed and host Illinois Central College.
Sheria Hatcher was the scoring leader for Mott CC. Hatcher had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Nicole Holmes continued her strong play with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 block shots and 4 steals. Trinka Boatright added 11 points and 2 block shots.
Leading up to tonights game, Mott had quite a tournament run but in the end it was just to many seeded teams for them to go through to get the title. They began the tournament with a 80-66 win over 6th seed Muskegon Community College. The Lady Bears then defeated 3rd seed Johnson County Community College 81-65. Second seed Kankakee Community College knocked Mott CC out of title contention with a 72-55 win over the Lady Bears. Full box scores and stats are available on the tournament web site.

| Mott Lady Bears' Run Ends at National Championships |
Mott Community College Women's Basketball Championship run ends with a loss to Kankakee Community College. The Lady Bears lost 72-55 to the tournaments second seed.
It was quite a post-season run for Mott CC who knocked off the nation's 4th ranked team Schoolcraft Community College in the district playoffs to make it to the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championships. Then they defeated the number 6th seed, Muskegon Community College 80-68 in the first round of the tournament.
Trinka Boatright notched her second double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Sheria Hatcher added 18 points. Nicole Holmes scored 17 points.
