The Cincinnati State Technical & Community College women's basketball team is ranked second in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll. The Surge are 28-1 overall. Kalamazoo Valley Community College remains third again this week. The Cougars are 26-1 overall. Owens Community College holds on to the number seven spot again this week. The Express are 25-5 on the season. Lake Michigan College moves up on spot to number 13 this week. The Indians are 24-3 so far this season. Jackson Community College is in the others receiving votes this week. The Jets are 21-6 overall. Macomb Community College is in the others receiving votes category for the first time this week. The Monarchs are 21-7 this year.

The Vincennes University men's basketball team held on to the number three spot in the NJCAA Division I men's basketball poll again this week. The Trailblazers are 28-2 on the season.

Mott CC spends their 13th week at number one
The Mott Community College men's basketball team is the number one team in the NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll again this week. The Bears are 27-1 on the regular season. Oakland Community College dropped two spots to number seven this week. The Raiders are 23-4 overall this season. Columbus State Community College dropped three spots to number twelve this week. The Cougars are 23-5 so far this year. Lansing Community College is in the others receiving votes category this week. The Stars are 18-11 on the season.

Muskegon CC finishes 17th at Nationals
The Muskegon Community College wrestling team finished seventeenth at the NJCAA National Tournament with 33.5 points. In the 125 pound bracket, Jarred Lillyhorn went 0-2. In the 133 bracket, Michael Lackney went 1-2. Stephen Ruppert went 2-2 in the 141 pound bracket. In the 149 pound bracket, Sean Turner finished 4th going 4-2. In the 157 pound bracket, Eric Telford went 1-2. Jamie Spencer went 0-2 in the 165 pound bracket. Jacob Brown went 0-2 in the 174 pound bracket. Matt Henry went 1-2 in the 184 pound bracket. In the 197 pound bracket, Thomas Bolday went 2-2. In the 285 pound bracket, Ryan Steverson went 3-2.

Jackson's White named NJCAA Player of the Week
Jackson Community College sophomore guard Kelsey White has been named NJCAA Division II women's basektball Player of the Week. White scored 18 points and hit four three pointers in a 89-87 loss to Lansing Community College. She then scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals in a 122-98 loss to Lake Michigan College. The week previous White set a national record for made three pointers in a game.

The Cincinnati State Technical and Community College women's basketball team is ranked second in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll for the seventh straight week. The Surge are 26-1 overall and 10-0 in the OCCAC. Kalamazoo Valley Community College remained third in the poll for a second week. The Cougars are 24-1 overall and 12-1 in the MCCAA Western. Owens Community College dropped one spot to number seven this week. The Express are 24-5 overall and 9-2 in the OCCAC. Lake Michigan College moved up three spots to number 14 this week. The Indians are 23-3 overall and 13-1 in the MCCAA Western. Jackson Community College dropped out of the top 20 into the others receiving votes category this week. The Jets are 20-5 overall and 10-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference.

The Vincennes University women's basketball team is ranked in the top 20 in the NJCAA Division I women's basketball poll. The Trailblazer, who are 24-4 on the season, are ranked 20th this week.

Mott's reign at number one continues for 12th week
The Mott Community College men's basketball team is the number one team in the NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll for the 12th straight week. The Bears, who got all 12 first place votes, are 25-1 overall and 14-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Oakland Community College jumped up six spots in this week's rankings to number five. The Raiders are 22-3 overall and 14-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Oakland and Mott will face off tomorrow at Ballenger Fieldhouse in Flint. Columbus State Community College dropped four spots into a tie for ninth. The Cougars are 23-4 overall and 8-3 in the OCCAC. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is the others receiving votes category this week. The Surge are 20-6 overall and 8-2 in the OCCAC. Lansing Community College also is in the others receiving votes category. The Stars are 16-11 overall and 12-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference.

The Vincennes University men's basketball team is ranked number three for the second straight week in the NJCAA Division I men's basketball poll. The Trailblazers are 27-2 on the season.

Lansing's Duhon named NJCAA men's basketball player of the week
Lansing Community College 6-3 sophomore guard Nate Duhon has been named the NJCAA Division II men's basketball player of the week. Duhon scored 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 90-88 win over Muskegon Community College. He also hit the game winning shot against the Jayhawks with just 3 second left in the game. Duhon then scored 32 points on 13 of 19 shooting in the Stars 99-77 win over Ancilla College.

Cincinnati State's Fischer named NJCAA player of the week
Cincinnati State Technical and Community College 5-5 sophomore guard Dominique Fischer has been named NJCAA Divsion II women's basketball player of the week. Fischer scored 14 points and had five steals in the Surge's 70-58 win over Edison Community College. She then recored 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals against Lakeland Community College. Fischer also had 25 points and seven steals in an 89-40 win over non-conference Miami University-Hamilton.

The Bears, who received all 12 first place votes, are 23-1 overall and in the 12-1 MCCAA Eastern Conference. Columbus State Comunity College dropped two spots to number five this week. The Cougars are 22-3 overall and 7-2 in the OCCAC. Oakland Community College moved up one spot this week to number 11. The Raiders are 20-3 overall and 12-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Lakeland Community College drops into the other receiving votes category this week. The Lakers are 18-6 overall and 4-4 in the OCCAC. Henry Ford Community College is in the others receiving votes category again this week. The Hawks are 17-7 overall and 9-4 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference.

The Vincennes University men's basketball team moved up two spots to number three in this week's NJCAA Divsion I men's basketball poll. The Trailblazers are 24-2 on the season.

Muskegon's Saunders named NJCAA player of the week
Muskegon Community College sophomore Sudan Saunders has been named the NJCAA Division II women's basketball player of the week. Saunders, a 5-10 guard, had a triple-double and a double-double as the Jayhawks went 1-1 last week. She recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 76-54 win over Ancilla College on Wednesday. On Saturday, in a 109-104 loss to Jackson Community College, Saunders had 34 points, 13 rebounds, ten assists and five steals. She was 13 of 15 from the floor against the Jets.
