Mott CC drops on spot to number three in final ranking
Despite winning their only game of the week the Mott Community College men's basketball team dropped on spot to number three in this week's NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll. The Bears are 23-3 overall and 13-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The Bears have locked up the number on seed in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and will play the Western Conference Champion Glen Oaks Community College on Saturday in Centreville, MI. Henry Ford Community College dropped two spots to number five in this week's rankings. The Hawks, who lost to Oakland Community College on Saturday, are 23-3 overall and finished 13-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They will have the number two seed for the NJCAA District 9 tournament that starts next Tuesday. Glen Oaks Community College moves up two spots to number nine this week. The Vikings, the MCCAA Western Conference Champions are 24-3 overall and finished 15-1 the the MCCAA Western Conference. They will be the host for the MCCAA Championship game and will have the number one seed for the NJCAA District 8 tournament next week. Columbus State Community College is in the other's receiving votes category this week. The Cougars are 22-5 overall, 9-4 in the OCCAC. Lansing Community College is also in the other receiving votes catagory this week. The Stars are 19-5 overall, 12-2 in the MCCAA Westen conference and will have the number two seed for the NJCAA District 8 tournament that starts next Tuesday. St. Clair County Community College dropped out of the top 15 and are in the other's receivings votes category this week. The Skippers, who lost to Mott Community College, are 20-6 overall and 10-4 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. This is the last poll for the season.

Mott CC Schmidt wins his 500th game last Saturday
Mott Community College men's basketball coach Steve Schmidt won his 500th game at Mott CC on Saturday with a 77-44 win over Macomb Community College. Schmidt will be inducted into the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame this spring. In his 19th season, Schmidt has led the Bears to three national titles and has never posted a sub .500 record at the school. They have won at least 25 games each of the last 14 seasons. Schmidt has led Mott to ten confernce titles, four district and two region championships. His team have qualified for the national tournament six times and advanced to the title game on five occassions. He has been twice named NJCAA Division II Coach of the year and has coached two NJCAA Division II Players of the Year and 14 All-Americans.

Owens CC moves up to number two in this week's rankings
The Owens Community College women's basketball moved up two spots this week to number two in this week's NJCAA Division II Women's basketball poll. The Express are 24-2 overall, 10-0 in the OCCAC. Schoolcraft College dropped five spots this week to number six after losing to Delta College last Thursday. The Oceltos are 23-1, 13-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Lake Michigan College holds on to the number 17 spot for the second straight week. The Indians are 20-4 overall, 12-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Seven Region XII school are in the other's receiving votes category this week. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College (17-8 overall, 9-1 OCCAC); Delta College (14-11, 10-5 MCCAA Eastern); Edison Community College (15-6, 4-5 OCCAC); Grand Rapids Community College (17-3, 11-1 MCCAA Eastern); Lakeland Community College (19-5, 8-2 OCCAC); Muskegon Community College (15-10, 5-7 MCCAA Western Conference) and St. Clair County Community College (19-5, 12-2 MCCAA Eastern Conference) are the teams in that catagory this week.

Vincennes drops to other receiving votes this week
Vincennes University women's basketball team dropped out of the top 25 in this week's NJCAA Division I women's basketball poll to the other's receiving votes category. The Trailblazers are 18-6 overall after losing to Jefferson (MO) College and Lincoln Trail (IL) College.

The Hawks are 22-2 overall, 12-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. St. Clair County Community College moved up two spots to number nine. Henry Ford number two for second straight week
The Henry Ford Community College men's basketball team is ranked number two in the NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll for the second straight week. The Hawks are 21-1 overall, 11-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Mott Community College moves up on spot to number five in this week's poll. The Bears are 19-1, 10-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The two teams will meet on Thursday at Ballenger Fieldhouse in Flint, MI. The Hawks beat the Bears back on January 9 by a score of 94-68 in Dearborn. Glen Oaks Community College is up two spots this week to number ten. The Vikings are 20-2 and 11-0 in the MCCAA Western Conference. St. Clair County Community College moved up two spots this week to number 11 in the rankings. The Skippers are 19-4 overall and 9-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Columbus State Community College dropped on spot to number 15 this week. The Cougars are 19-3 overall and 6-2 in the OCCAC.

They are idle until February 10. Owens Community College is ranked fourth in the second straight week. The Express are 21-2 and 7-0 in the OCCAC. Grand Rapids Community College breaks into the top 20 at number 16 this week. The Raiders are 15-2 overall and 9-0 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. St. Clair breaks into top 15 with win over #1 Henry Ford CC
St. Clair County Community College broke into the top 15 this week's NJCAA Divison II men's basketball poll with their 76-72 win on Saturday over last week's number one team Henry Ford Community College. The Skippers are number 13 in this week's rankings with a record of 17-4 overall and 7-2 in the MCCAA Eastern. The loss dropped Henry Ford Community College one spot to number two this week. The Hawks are 19-1 overall and 9-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Mott Community College is sixth again this week. The Bears are 18-3 overall and 8-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. Glen Oaks Community College dropped one spot in this week's poll to number 12. The Vikings are 18-2 overall and 8-0 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Columbus State Community College dropped four spots this week to number 14. The Cougars are 18-3 overall and 5-2 in the OCCAC. Grand Rapids ranked 11th in pre-season poll
The Grand Rapids Community College men's baseball team is ranked 12th in this season's NJCAA Division II pre-season baseball poll. The Raiders were 35-24 overall last year. Kellogg Community College is in the other's receiving votes catagory in the poll. The Bruins were 30-20 last season and qualified for the NJCAA Division II baseball nationals.
