Delta College honors Lynn Conway for his years of service
Delta College honored former Athletic Director Lynn Conway today with a plaque and a banner that will hang forever in Pioneer Gym. Making the day even more special for Conway was the fact the old friends Alpena Community College Frank McCourt and former Oakland Community College Athletic Director Pin Ryan were present. Conway and Ryan were reponsible for the creation of Division II in the NJCAA. Delta hosted the Division II Men's Tournament for the first six years. Oakland Community College and Delta College both won a National Championship while Delta College hosted the tournament.

Mott CC Men's Team receives Championship Rings.
In a brief ceremony before the start of warm ups the Mott Community College Men's Basketball team received their championship rings from last year's National Championship. Mott, the two-time defending national champions were presented with the rings before beating Oakland CC 67-64 in their MCCAA Eastern Conference game. The Bears have won 3 National Championships since 2003.

Delta to honor former AD Lynn Conway on Saturday, Dec. 20
Delta College will honor former Athletic Director Lynn Conway on Saturday, December 20 at 12:00 in Pioneer Gym in University Center, MI. The ceremony will take place just before the second day of the Lynn Conway Holiday Classic. Conway began his career at Bay City Junior College in 1956 as a full time Faculty member and Men's Basketball Coach. He continued to server in the sam capacity at Delta College when in 1961 Bay City Junior College closed its doors. Lynn took over as Delta's second Athletic Director when Dan Kinsey retired in 1966. Conway served as Athletic Director until 1999. Conway and former Oakland Community College Athletic Director Prentice "Pin" Ryan were instrumental in establishing Divsion II Men's Basketbal at the NJCAA National Level. In fact, Delta College hosted the first six years fo the tournament and Delta won the tournament in 1989.

Cincinnati State Technical & CC leads four Region XII team in poll
The Cincinnati State Technical and Community College moved up one spot in this week NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Poll to number four. The Surge (7-3) lost to Division I Walters (TN) State Community College 77-58 in their only game this week. Owens Community College moved up one spot this week to number five. The Lady Express beat St. Clair County Community College 84-71 and Indiana Institute of Technology JV 76-32 last week. Schoolcraft College held steady this week at number seven. The Ocelots (8-1) beat Macomb Community College 86-50, Lakleand Community College 74-54 and Kalamazoo Valley Community College 95-62 last week. Kalamazoo Valley Community College dropped six spots to number 15 this week. The Cougars (6-2) beat Ancilla College 66-55, beat Sinclair Community College 68-63 in overtime and lost to Schoolcraft College 95-62. Grand Rapids Community College (6-3), Kirtland Community College (5-2), Muskegon Community College (5-4) and Oakland Community College (5-2) are in the others receiving votes catagory.

Mott CC moves to third in this week's NJCAA Basketball Poll
Mott Community College moved up two spots this week to number three in this week's NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Poll. The Bears (7-1) defeated last week's number nine Monre (NY) Community College 78-71 and last week's number twelve Illinois Central College 54-49. Mott CC is two time defending national champions. Columbus State Community College moved up four spots to number 13. The Cougars (7-1) beat Mt. Vernon Nazarene JV 99-67 and Southern State Community College 135-82 last week. Glen Oaks Community College cracks into the poll this week at the 15th spot. The Vikings (8-1) beat Trine (IN) University JV 101-63 in their only game this week. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College (2-7) and Macomb Community College (9-0) are the only Region XII team in the others receiving votes catagory.

Lakeland CC's Peterson earns All-American status
Lakeland Community College sophomore defender Kwesi Peterson earned Second Team All-American status. Peterson had 14 goals and five assists in 17 games for the Lakers who finished the season at 12-5-5.

Columbus State CC's Randy Crites wins 200th game
Columbus State Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach Randall Crites has reached a career coaching mark. Crites won his 200th collegiate career win with a 81-80 win over Lake Michigan College on Friday, November 28 at the Turkey Trot Shootout in Kalamazoo, MI. "Coach Crites is a coach dedicated to his craft, to the mission of the basketball team and this establishes him in an elite field of coaches. Congratulations is well deserved for this milestone and ther will be many more", said M.D. Ferguson Columbus State CC Athletic Director.

Region XII has four volleyball All-Americans
Four Region XII volleyball players have earned All-American status this year. Grand Rapids Community College sophomore setter Nicole Peter earned First Team All-American honors. Peter average 10.92 assists per game, had a .399 hitting percentage, 1.22 kills per game, 0.67 blocks per game, 1.79 assists per game and 0.22 aces per game while leading the Raiders to the NJCAA Division II National Volleyball Tournament. Lake Michigan College sophomore outside hitter Heather Totzke earned Second Team All-American Honors this season. Totzke hit at a .359 percentage, averaged .27 aces per game, 3.75 digs per game, .28 blocks per game and 4.558 kills per game for the Indians. St. Clair County Community College sophomore liberio Morgan Iloncaie earned Honorable Mention All American Honors this year. Iloncaie averaged 6.76 digs per game and .19 aces per game for the Skippers. Owens Community College sophomore middle blocker Brittney Bradner also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors. Brander hit at a .342 percentage and averaged 1.03 blocks and 2.05 kills per game of the Lady Express.

Cincinnati State Technical & Community College moved up two spots to number five in this week's NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Poll. The Surge (6-2) lost to Division I Roane (TN) State Community College 75-65 last week and beat Southeastern Illinois College last night 86-74. Owens Community College breaks into the poll this week at number six. The Lady Express (6-4) beat Schoolcraft College 73-72, lost to Lake Michigan College 83-65 and beat Kalamazoo Valley Community College 69-58 this weekend at the Turkey Trot Shootout. Schoolcraft College dropped four spots this week to number seven. The Ocelots (6-1, 2-0 MCCAA East) lost to Owens Community College 73-72, beat Kennedy-King (IL) College 103-73 and beat Columbus State Community College 93-59 at the Turkey Trot Shootout last weekend. Kalamazoo Valley Community College dropped seven spots this week to number nine. The Cougars (4-1) beat Kennedy-King (IL) College 74-49, beat Columbus State Community College 76-51 and lost to Owens Community College 69-58 at the Turkey Trot Shootout last weekend. Grand Rapids Community College (4-2) and Muskegon Community College (4-2) are the only Region XII teams in the others receiving votes category.

Mott CC leads three Region XII teams in this week's poll
Mott Community College moved up one spot this week to number five in this NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Poll. The Bears (5-1) were idle last week but rebounded from their first loss of the season last night with a 83-82 win over visiting Kellogg Community College. The Bears will host the Mott CC Tournament with Jackson Community College, #11- Illinois Central College and #9 Monroe (NY) Community College on Friday and Saturday. Cincinnati State Technical & Community College breaks into the top 15 this week debuting at number 11. The Surge (5-2) lost to Division I Roane (TN) State Community College 79-65 in their only game of the week. Columbus State Community College drops four slots this week to 13. The Cougars (4-2) lost to Ohio State University JV 85-68 in the only game last week. Glen Oaks Community College (7-1), and Kellogg Community College (4-1) are the only Region XII teams in the other recieving votes catagory.

Vincennes University dropped out of the top 25 this week and is now in the others receiving votes category. The Trailblazers (6-3) lost to number 3 Southeastern Illinois College 82-59 last week.
