The Sinclair Community College baseball team is in the others receiving votes category in this week's NJCAA Division II baseball poll. The Tartan Pride are 12-7 on the season

Kellogg drops eight spots in this week's poll
The Kellogg Community College baseball team dropped eight spots this week to number 19 in the NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Bruins are 4-6 on the season. Sinclair Community College entered the other's receiving votes category this week. The Tartan Pride are 5-4 on the season. Grand Rapids Communtiy College dropped out of the poll this week.

Kellogg CC ranked 11th in first regular season baseball poll
The Kellogg Community College baseball team is ranked 11th in the first regular season NJCAA Division II baseball poll. The Bruins who open their season on Friday were ranked 10th in the pre-season. Grand Rapids Community College is ranked 17th in the poll. The Raiders, who were also ranked 17th in the pre-season poll, open their season tomorrow afternoon.

Kellogg CC and Grand Rapids CC ranked in pre-season poll
The Kellogg Community College baseball team is ranked tenth in the NJCAA Division II pre-season baseball poll. The Bruins finished last season with a 35-23 overall record. Grand Rapids Community College is ranked 17th in the pre-season rankings. The Raiders, who qualified for the NJCAA Division II World Series last year, finished with a 39-24 overall record.

Macomb's Eisler named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week
Macomb Community College shortstop Stu Eisler has been named the NJCAA Division II Player of the Week.  Eisler batted .500 (9 for 18) on the week with a triple and three home runs.  He also walked six times and was hit by five pitches during the week.  Eisler had a .690 on base percentage to go with 12 RBI, eight runs and four stolen bases.

Sinclair moves up four spots this week to number seven
The Sinclair Community College baseball team moved up four spots this week to number seven in the NJCAA Division II baseball poll. The Pride are 36-12 overall and 17-3 in the OCCAC. The have clinched the OCCAC baseball championship. Vincennes University broke into the top 20 this week at number 16. The Trailblazers are 32-15 on the season.

Sinclair debuts at number 11 in this week's poll
The Sinclair Community College baseball team broke into the top 20 this week at number 11 in the NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll. The Pride are 27-11 overall and 10-2 in OCCAC. Vincennes University dropped out of the top 20 and into the others receiving votes category this week. The Trailblazers are 26-14 on the season.

The Vincennes University baseball team is ranked 13th in the this week's NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Trailblazers are 24-9 on the season. Sinclair Community College is in the others receiving votes category this week. The Pride are 16-8 overall and 3-1 in the OCCAC.

Delta College ranked 14th in first regular season baseball poll
The Delta College baseball team, in their first varsity season, is ranked 14th in the first NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Pioneers are 8-2 on the season. Muksegon Community College is in the others receiving votes category this week. The Jayhawks are 10-5 on the season.

Kellogg ranked tenth in pre-season baseball poll
The Kellogg Community College baseball team is ranked tenth in the NJCAA Division II pre-season baseball poll. The Bruins finished last season with a 35-24 record and a fourth place in the NJCAA Division II baseball championships. Grand Rapids Community College is ranked 17th in the poll. The Raiders finished 31-24 last season. The NJCAA also ranks the North District which is Region XII. Kellogg is ranked first in the Region, while Grand Rapids is second. Jackson Community College is third, the Jets finished last season with a 30-23 record. Macomb Community College is ranked fourth, the Monarchs final record last season was 30-24.

Former Lake Michigan pitcher Below makes major league debut
Former Lake Michigan College standout pitcher Duane Below made his major league debut last night for the Detroit Tigers as they lost to the Oakland A's, 7-5. Below pitched five full inning and to one batter in the sixth inning.  That batter was Hideki Matusi, who hit a home run that ended Below's night.
Below threw 77 pitches in the five plus innings, allowing five hits, three runs, one of which was earned.  He also walked one and struck out two batters.  He did not receive a decision in the game.  
Below was called up form the Tigers AAA afiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens, where he was 9-4 with a 3.13 earned run average in 18 games.  He allowed 99 hits, 42 runs, 40 earned.  He walked 37, while striking out 83 in 115 innings of work.  Below is the latest Tiger pitcher to try and win the number five starting slot in their rotation.

Kellogg CC win rain soaked Region XII Tournament
The Kellogg Community College baseball team was eighth seeded coming into the NJCAA Region XII Baseball tournament but won four straight games to win the tournament. Kellogg defeated Muskegon Community College 8-2 in the championship game to advance to the NJCAA Division II Baseball Nationals in Enid, OK, for May 28-June 4, 2011. Kellogg scored twice in the fourth inning to take the lead for good. Sean Clancy of Kellogg was named the MVP, while Kenton SanMiguel and Caleb Vincent of Kellogg were named to the All-Tournament Team. Kenny Davis and Colton Satterlee of Muskegon were also on the team, as were Steve Hazel and Kenny Davis of Grand Rapids Community College. Chas Haper and Cory Johnston of Cuyahoga Community College, Jeremiah Kerns, Chas Harper of Sinclair Community College and Andrew Orr of Macomb Community College rounded out the All-Tournament Team.

Ancilla's Copp named NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week
Ancilla College freshman pitcher Josh Copp has been named NJCAA Division II Baseball Picture of the Week. Copp, 6-0, appeared in two games this week against Glen Oaks Community College and Mott Community College, striking out eight batters in eleven innings. He also gave up eight hits, three walks and zero runs in the outings. Copp has a season ERA of 0.00, not allowing an earned run in 27 innings pitched. He broke the Ancilla College record for most consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. Congratulations to Josh on the award.Tuesday, March 29

The Owens Community College baseball team debuts at number 13 in the NJCAA Division II Men's Baseball Poll. The Express are 21-11 overall on the season. Sinclair Community College is in the others receiving votes category this week. The Pride are 14-5 on the young season.Wednesday, March 16

Muskegon closer Satterlee named NJCAA Pitcher of the Week
Muskegon Community College sophomore closer Cotton Satterlee has been named NJCAA Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Satterlee closed six games last week picking up six saves. He came on in the late innings for five straight games to secure Jayhawk wins. He struck out 15 batters in 5.2 innings, allowing just two hits, no earned runs and walked just one batter. Congratulations to Cotton on the award.

Kellogg is ranked eleventh in the preseason poll
The Kellogg Community College baseball team is ranked eleventh in the NJCAA Division II pre-season baseball poll. The Bruins finished last season with a 41-17 record and were the runners-up in the Region XII Tournament. Vincennes University is ranked 13th in the pre-season poll. The Trailblazers went 31-20 last year and qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. The North District order of finished predictions had Kellogg CC first, Vincennes second, Grand Rapids Community College third and Jackson Community College fourth.

Vincennes University claims last Regional spot sweeping Lakeland
The Vincennes University baseball team claimed the last spot in the NJCAA Region XII Baseball Tournament by sweeping Lakeland Community College 7-3 and 11-1 in 5 innings. With the sweep Vincennes wins the Region XII Sub-Region tournament and will be the Southern #1 team in the bracket. They will play Michigan #4 at 10 AM on Friday morning on Morrison Field. The tournament will take place at Bailey Park in Battle Creek, MI on May 14-17. In the first game Patrick Kraft threw a complet game nine hitter striking out five for the complete game win. Jared Broughton went 2-4 with a double and two RBI. In the nightcap, Josh Gieger allowed just four hits and fanned three batters in a five inning complete game win. Jason Cruse went 2-4 with three RBI and two home runs. Thursday, April 29

The Sinclair Community College baseball team dropped one spot in the final NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Tartan Pride are 38-8 overall and have clinched their second straight OCCAC baseball title. Owens Community College is in the others receiving votes catagory this week with an overal record of 34-10.Saturday, April 15

The top ten ranking is the first time in school history that the Tartan Pride baseball team is ranked in the top ten. Grand Rapids ranked 11th in pre-season poll
The Grand Rapids Community College men's baseball team is ranked 12th in this season's NJCAA Division II pre-season baseball poll. The Raiders were 35-24 overall last year. Kellogg Community College is in the other's receiving votes catagory in the poll. The Bruins were 30-20 last season and qualified for the NJCAA Division II baseball nationals.Friday, May 1

Region XII Sub-Regional Baseball Tournament kicks-off today
The NJCAA Region XII Sub-Regional Baseball Tournament kicks off today at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, OH. Vincennes University won the first game of the tournament 6-0 over host Lakeland Community College. Owens Community College will face Cuyahoga Community College at 12:00 noon. At 2:30, Lakeland will play the loser of the Cuyahoga/Owens game. At 5:00 PM, Vincennes will play the winner of the Owens/Cuyahoga game. The double-elimination tournament will continue on to Saturday. If a second championship game is needed it will be played Sunday. The winner will be the 5th seed in next week's NJCAA Region XII Baseball Tournament. Sinclair Community College earned a berth to the Region XII Tournament last week by winning the OCCAC Tournament.

Jackson CC enters the top 20 in this week's baseball poll.
Jackson Community College moved up to number seven in this week's NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Jets, 36-9 overall, were in the others receiving votes category last week. They are leading the MCCAA baseball standings with a 20-5 conference record. Owens Community College dropped seven spots this week to number 15 after placing third in the OCCAC tournament last weekend. The Express have an overall record of 34-8. Sinclair Community College is in the other receiving votes category this week with an overall record of 33-10. The Pride won the OCCAC baseball tournament last weekend and will be the fourth seed in the NJCAA Region XII Baseball tournament next weekend.

The Owens Community College baseball team moved up three spots to number seven in this week's NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll. The Express are 31-6 overall and 10-2 in the OCCAC. Vincennes University remained in the others receiving votes catagory with an overall record of 28-12. Jackson Community College has debuted in the others receiving votes catagory this week. The Jets are 31-9 overall and in first place in the MCCAA with a record of 17-5 in the conference

Grand Rapids Community College is ranked in Pre-Season Poll
Grand Rapids Community College baseball team is ranked 13th in the NJCAA Division II Pre-Season Baseball Poll. The Raiders were 29-24 last year and qualified for NJCAA Division II Baseball National Tournament. Three other teams are listed in the others recieving votes category. Jacskon Community College (27-22), Kalamazoo Valley Community College (33-18) and Kellogg Community College (27-18) are all in the others receiving votes category.

Two Region XII players earn Pre-Season All-American Honors
Utility player Nate Bryan of Ancilla College was named to the NJCAA Division II Baseball Pre-Season All-American Second Team. Outfielder Paul Young of Grand Rapids Community College was named to the Third Team.
