Women's Basketball - Wed, Feb. 1, 2017

The Owens Community College women's basketball team is ranked second in the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Poll for the second straight week. The Express are 21-0 overall and 8-0 in the OCCAC after defeating Lakeland Community College and Cincinnati State Technical & Community College last week. They will travel to Cuyahoga Community College tonight before hosting Hocking College on Saturday. 

Kalamazoo Valley Community College moved up three spots to number six in this week's poll. The Cougars are 15-3 overall and 7-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference after Grand Rapids Community College and Lansing Community College last week. They travel to Glen Oaks Community College tonight before hosting number 20 Lake Michigan College on Saturday. the Red Hawks gave Kalamazoo Valley their only conference loss. 

Lake Michigan College is ranked 20th in this week's poll. The Red Hawks were in the other schools receiving votes category last week, They are 15-4 overall and 7-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference after beating Muskegon Community College and Ancilla College last week. They will host Kellogg Community College tonight before traveling to face number six Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Saturday afternoon in a battle of teams tied for first place in the Western Conference. 

Muskegon Community College is in the other schools receiving votes again this week. The Jayhawks are 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the MCCAA Western Conference. They lost to Lake Michigan College last Wednesday before beating Jackson College on Saturday. The Red Hawks host Ancilla College tonight before traveling to Grand Rapids Community College on Friday night.
