Jackson CC enters the top 20 in this week's baseball poll.
Jackson Community College moved up to number seven in this week's NJCAA Division II Baseball poll. The Jets, 36-9 overall, were in the others receiving votes category last week. They are leading the MCCAA baseball standings with a 20-5 conference record. Owens Community College dropped seven spots this week to number 15 after placing third in the OCCAC tournament last weekend. The Express have an overall record of 34-8. Sinclair Community College is in the other receiving votes category this week with an overall record of 33-10. The Pride won the OCCAC baseball tournament last weekend and will be the fourth seed in the NJCAA Region XII Baseball tournament next weekend.

Lansing Community College holds on to number two spot again
The Lansing Community College softball team held on to the number two spot in this week's NJCAA Division II softball poll. The Stars are 44-1 overall and have won the MCCAA Western Conference with a record of 27-1. Kalamazoo Valley CC held on to the number 12 spot this week's poll. The Cougars are 25-12 overall and have locked up third place in the MCCAA Western Conference. Muskegon Community College also held steady at number 15 this week. The Jayhawks are 39-11 overall and will finish second in the MCCAA Western Conference. Owens Community College are in the other receiving votes category this week with a 21-11 record.

The Grand Rapids Community College golf team is ranked sixth in this week's NJCAA Division II Golf poll. Travis Shooks of Grand Rapids CC is ranked 13th in the individual rakings.

Owens CC moves up three spots in this week's poll.
The Owens Community College baseball team moved up three spots to number seven in this week's NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll. The Express are 31-6 overall and 10-2 in the OCCAC. Vincennes University remained in the others receiving votes catagory with an overall record of 28-12. Jackson Community College has debuted in the others receiving votes catagory this week. The Jets are 31-9 overall and in first place in the MCCAA with a record of 17-5 in the conference

Lansing Community College remained second in this week's NJCAA Division II Softball Poll. The Stars are 38-1 overall and 21-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Kalamazoo Valley Community College debuts in the poll this week at number 12. The Cougars are 22-11 overall and 18-6 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Muskegon Community College dropped four spots this week to number 15 in this week's poll. The Jayhawks are 32-10 overall and 18-4 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Owens Community College dropped out of the top twenty this week but are still in the others receiving votes. The Lady Express are 20-8 overall and 8-0 in the OCCAC conference.

Grand Rapids Community College is ranked sixth in this week NJCAA Division II golf poll. The Raiders have 34.000 computer points in this week rankings. Travis Shooks is the only Region XII golfer in the top 20 this week. Shooks has an adjusted round average of 72.393 for the season

The Lansing Community College moved up one spot this week to number two in this week's NJCAA Division II Softball Poll. The Stars are 32-1 overall and 17-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Muskegon Community College debuts this week at number 11 in the poll. The Jayhawks are 25-8 overall and 15-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference. Owens Community College held steady at number 17 for the second straight week. The Lady Express 14-8 overall and 5-0 in the OCCAC.

Jackson CC's Adams named NJCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Kelsey Adams of Jackson Community College was the NJCAA Division II Player of the Week
. Adams (Grass Lake, MI/Grass Lake) recorded the first shut-out of her career for Jackson Community College. The 5' 7" sophomore, allowed two hits and walked one in a 5-0 win over Ancilla College. Adams struck out four to give their seventh win over the eight games. Congratulations to Kelsey on the award.

Region XII has four NJCAA Basketball All-Americans.
NJCAA Region XII has four NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-Americans this year. Mark Anderson a 6-7, sophomore, forward from Sinclair Community College earned First Team All-American honors this season. Anderson averaged 24.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 assists and 2.4 blockes per game.
DeAndre Nealy, a 6-6, sophomore guard from Mott Community College earned Second Team All-American Honors. Last season National Tournament MVP averaged, 15.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals per game. He also led the nation with 259 blocks.
Lansing Community College, 6-5, sophomore guard/forward, also was named a Second Team All-American. Harris, averaged 20.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 assists and 0.5 blocks per game for the MCCAA Western Conference Champion Stars.
Kevin Grayer, a 6-3, freshman guard from Oakland Community College earned Third Team All-Americans honors. Grayer averaged 18.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game for the MCCAA Eastern Conference Co-Champions.
Region XII congratulates these four players for their outstanding seasons.

Region XII has six Division II Women's Basketball All-Americans

NJCAA Region XII had six player named NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball All-Americans this season. Tabytha Harvey, a 5-9, sophomore forward from Oakland Community College earned First Team All-American Honors. Harvey averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.8 blocks per game for the Raiders. Taylor Langham, a 5-9 freshman guard from Schoolcraft College also earned second team honors. Langham averaged 15.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks per game for the MCCAA Eastern Conference Champion Ocelots.
Brittany Bueche, a 5-8 sophomore guard from Grand Rapids Community College earned second team honors. Bueche aveaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.6 blocks for the MCCAA Western Conference Tri-Champion Raiders.
Jackie Feldpausch, 5-9 freshman forward from Lansing Community College earned Third Team All-American honors. Feldpausch averaged 17.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.1 blocks per game for the Stars. Gail Hartings, a 5-9 sophomore forward from Edison Community College earned Third Team All-American honors. Hartings averaged 18.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per game for the Chargers. Heather Hassloch, a 6-0 sophomore forward from Cincinnati State Technical & Community College earned Third Team All-Americans this season. Hassloch averaged 19.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.4 blocks for the OCCAC Champion Surge.

Vincennes University's Elam earns First Team All-American Honors
Vincennes University's Hope Elam, a 6-1, sophomore forward earned NJCAA Division I First Team All-American Honors. Elam averaged 21.2 points, 11.1 points, 2.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks per game for the Trailblazers. Region XII congratulates Elam on her outstanding season.

The Owens Community College baseball team dropped two spots in this weeks NJCAA Division II Men's Baseball poll. The Express dropped from tenth to 12th this week. They have an overall record of 16-3 and a conference record of 4-0.

The Lansing Community College softball team moved up one spot to third in the week's NJCAA Division II Women's Softball Poll. The Stars are 28-1 overall on the season. Owens Community College broke into the top 20 this week at number 17. The Lady Express are 12-7 on the young season and atop the OCCAC standings.

Muskegon's Pickel named NJCAA Softball Player of the Week
Ashley Pickel (Muskegon, MI/Mona Shores) broke the Muskegon Community College school record for stolen bases to be named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week. The 5' 5" freshman stole 12 bases over six games last week, bringing her season total to a record breaking and nation leading 38 on the season. Pickel was alos an impressive 10-for-14 from the plate with a double, 11 runs and four RBI.

Mott CC renames gym for Head Coach Steve Schmidt
Mott Community College renamed the gymnasium in Ballenger fieldhouse today for head men's basketball coach Steve Schmidt. Schmidt, who has coached at Mott for 18 seasons, he has compiled a record of 478-115 with 11 conference titles, six MCCAA titles, six region/district titles. He has also led the Bears to six final fours, five national title games and three National Championships in 2003, 2007 and 2008. He has been named NJCAA Coach of the Year three times. He has coached 15 NJCAA All-Americans in his time as the Head Coach of the Bears. A crowd of 250 showed up on Sunday at Ballenger Fieldhouse for the ceremony to name the gym after Schmidt. "This couldn't be a nicer honor," said Schmidt. "I'm truly honored. This is about every single player that has committed their time and their effort. It has been such a good ride for 18 years."
